JOB DESCRIPTION

The Firebird Finance Team is looking to fill a newly created role in a fast-growing, fast paced environment. The role requires excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask. The ideal candidate is a talented, entrepreneurial individual who is ready to roll up their sleeves and jump in on any task at hand.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Report directly to the Corporate Controller & VP Finance/Controller of shared services
  • Own full-cycle accounting processes – GL, AR, AP, account reconciliations
  • Own month-end close – accruals, prepaids, expense reporting, credit cards, payroll
  • Support onboarding and accounting for portfolio companies and subsidiaries
  • Support creation and distribution of regular reporting packs for stakeholders
  • Ensure complete and accurate synchronization of plug-in softwares to GL (Concur, etc)
  • Audit and analyze financial statements and reports of subsidiaries and parent company
  • Pursue compliance with all tax related items and deadlines, locally and internationally
  • Help develop shared services department, resourcing various activities for subsidiaries
  • Develop regular, insightful, and accurate management reports, for internal and external use

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience. New/young/growing company experience +
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Advanced degree or CPA +
  • Cross-functional/operationally driven, with sound technical accounting knowledge
  • Information systems research, implementation, optimization experience. Major ERP +
  • Exceptional ability to work independently, as well as manage both upward and downward
  • Knowledge of the music / entertainment industry. Deals, contracts, royalties +
  • Strong excel and reporting skills. Big data and analytics experience +
  • No fear of rolling up your sleeves and getting in the weeds. Entrepreneurial spirit +
  • Desire to grow and be a part of something huge!
