Job Description

Toolroom is home to some of the most recognised underground house records with a heritage of over 20 years, releasing music from the likes of Mark Knight, CamelPhat, Fatboy Slim, Weiss, KC Lights, Solardo and many more.

The label continues to explore cutting-edge sounds with a real focus on quality and longevity. As part of Toolroom’s expansion plans, an exciting new role of Digital Manager has become available. We are looking to bring on an exciting, driven and experienced Digital Manager to take ownership of the digital promotion, uploads and DSP relationships globally.

Reporting directly to our Commercial Director, The Digital Manager shall be at the forefront of campaigns ensuring DSPs (all) have the relevant information to secure key placements, as well as ongoing campaign updates and exciting progressions as the record runs through its lifecycle.

The Digital Manager shall develop industry leading relationships with editorial staff, artist managers/artists, radio partners and external marketing agencies, as well as working closely with the label’s in house marketing team to effectively help drive priority records and campaigns through each phase. This role shall also include writing new streaming strategies, playlist concepts and connecting all the dots when it comes to the world of streaming and global music consumption.

The role requires a real ‘get stuck in’ work ethos with at least 2/3 years of previous experience within the role so you can jump into the family and get running from day 1 (This could be from another label, distributor). Working alongside an incredible team of 20 staff there is a real sense of fun, support and a culture where you feel listened to! Responsibilities (Summary but not limited to)
  • Weekly single/album pitching to DSPs highlighting key priorities alongside the label managers.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with key DSP editorial contacts (And developing new ones)
  • Collating data points, record performance, radio plays and key updates each week to feed back to management/labels/artists.
  • Securing impactful editorial placements and ‘extra’ record promotion where possible each week.
  • Manage a busy schedule each week across 6 label brands ensuring all administration is completed in a professional manner.
  • Strategize and implement streaming concepts and strategies to grow DSPs audiences globally.
  • Cross collaboration with the Youtube Manager/Commercial Director to effectively grow Youtube over the next 12 months.
  • Be an ambassador for Toolroom at global music events Be proactive.

  • Existing ‘black book’ of DSP relationships with a strong understanding of the nuances of each different store.
  • A strong understanding of digital music, digital deliveries (use of FUGA a plus), metadata and the digital landscape as a whole.
  • Evidence of previous concepts within the streaming world and how you have changed/improved processes within a business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
