NTS Radio – Label Manager (UK)

NTS Recordings – Label Manager

Job description

We’re looking for a label manager to oversee management of NTS Recordings, the record label wing of NTS. Full-time · Dalston, London

NTS is seeking an experienced and versatile candidate for a new role at the company, overseeing our record label set-up. They will be working closely with the NTS Head of Music, reporting to both the NTS Radio CEO and CCO and leading the NTS Recordings team. They will be the point person for our release schedule, steering the label’s growth and taking responsibility for the commercial performance of the label and catalogue – and ensuring we never compromise on quality.

Responsibilities
  • Formulating a label vision and strategy, working closely with both the NTS CEO and CCO, alongside the Head of Music
  • Development of the label release schedule, working closely with the A&R team, whilst overseeing end-to-end release from production to retail (with a growing emphasis on D2C)
  • Working with the NTS marketing team to build and deliver successful release campaigns.
  • Creating and managing a budget for NTS Recordings with the Head of Finance, looking after the payment of artist royalties, production houses and distribution network

NTS Recordings runs as an independent record label under the wider NTS umbrella. Its digital and physical releases reflect the diverse music programming that NTS is well-known for. The ideal candidate will be expected to have a wide-reaching musical background, as the label focuses on archive and contemporary compilations that cover everything from amapiano to black metal, cumbiaton and private press folk.

Run by a small team, NTS Recordings is bolstered by additional resources from the broader company and by collaboration with the network of artists and creatives that surround it. The ideal candidate should be versatile across this role, with a positive attitude and creative problem solving. The Label Manager will be asked to work across multiple simultaneous projects, so will need exceptional organisational skills. They will be a sensitive and collaborative team leader, but also a resourceful and independent worker.

  • Excellent administration skills, with a thorough attention to detail and ability to prioritise

Returns
  • Group personal pension scheme
  • Generous annual leave policy (23 days holiday + additional days over Christmas)
  • Employee perks: discounts and free tickets for gigs and events
  • Work from home up to two days a week
